RIGBY, ID -- Zelma Landon, 84, of Rigby, died August 6, 2001, at her home. She was under the care of District Seven Home Health and Hospice.
She was born November 25, 1916 at Newdale, to George J. Cunningham and Mary Louisa Hammer Cunningham. She attended 1st and 2nd grades in Newdale, then continued her education in Osgood.
She married Harold James Landon on February 28, 1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on June 15, 1992. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked at Rigby Produce, cooked at the Rigby Senior Citizen Center, and helped care for the Shelton Cemetery. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Young Women’s, Primary, Scouts, and as a visiting teacher. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, writing letters, and cooking. Surviving are:Son: DeLon Harold (Sonia) Landon, Rigby, IDSon: Larry Lynn (Jennie) Landon, Ririe, IDSon: Robert James (Margaret) Landon, Ririe, IDSon: Ramon George (Gail) Landon, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Errol Dwain (Cathie) Landon, Rigby, IDSon: Norman Edward (Patty) Landon, Ririe, IDDaughter: Sharon Eileen (Brent) Hulse, Irrigon, ORDaughter: GayLyn (Byron) Hodges, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter-in-law: Yvonne Landon, Shelley, IDBrother: Eldon (Darla) Cunningham, Pocatello, IDSister: Viola Landon Wyatt, Idaho Falls, ID 50 Grandchildren, 94 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Roy Cleon Landon; 2 granddaughters; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at the Clark Shelton LDS Ward, (198 North 4300 East, Rigby, ID) with Bishop Larry Stucki officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
