Ruth Marion Jacobsen Andrus, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 8, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of Hearts for Hospice. Ruth was born March 8, 1925, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Oluf George Jacobsen and Amelia Parramore Jacobsen. She grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School on State Street. On September 19, 1942, she married Ernest Leroy Andrus at Evanston, Wyoming. To this union were born five children, Kathy, Linda, Jacqueline, Pamela, and Ernie. Ruth and Ernest made their home in Idaho Falls. During World War II, she worked as a riveter. As the owners of ABC Furnace Cleaners, they were actively involved in the community. Ruth worked as a secretary and a bookkeeper for their home business, but her main occupation was as a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, sewing, traveling, camping, and spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kathy (John) Quick of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Pamela Holverson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Ernest (Cindy) Andrus of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, George (Becky) Jacobsen of Reno, NV; brother, Richard (Janice) Jacobsen of Tremonton, UT; sister, Shirley (Bruce) Black of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughters, Linda Andrus and Jacqueline Bell, and a grandson, Eric Bell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery.
