Roma Ester Bortotto McBride, 89, of Pocatello, passed away May 12, 2023, at Caring Hearts Assisted Living. She was under the care of her loving family.
Roma was born October 22, 1933, in Susegana, Italy, to Ferruccio Bortotto and Marcolina Meneghin Bortotto. She attended Ricks College and BYU where she earned her Associate’s Degree in French and Spanish. She also graduated from Cosmetology School in Temple, Texas.
On April 4, 1968, she married Marvin LeGrand McBride in the Salt Lake City Temple. Roma and Marvin most recently made their home in Pocatello, Idaho, where Roma was a homemaker.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Swiss-Austria Mission, was a faithful minister to the sisters in the Cedar Hills Ward, and served as a Relief Society and Primary President. She enjoyed family history, gardening, knitting, baking, and being with her grandchildren.
Roma is survived by her son, William (Stephanie) McBride of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Joyce (Tim) Pearson of Pocatello, ID; sister, Maria Albenga of Conegliano, Italy; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin McBride; sister, Licia Sperandio; brother, Vinicio Bortotto; brother, Antonio Bortotto; sister, Ever Granziera; sister; Lucia Bortotto; and brother, Carlo Bortotto.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Cedar Hills Ward, 5425 Bannock Highway, in Pocatello, with Bishop Ryan Weishaar officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
