Patti Janine Schwab, 74, of Ririe, passed away June 20, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Patti was born January 18, 1948, in Logan, Utah, to Lowen Woodrow Clark and Gayla Gorton Clark. She grew up in Roberts, Idaho; Soda Springs, Idaho; and Provo, Utah, where she attended and graduated from Provo High School. She also attended Brigham Young University and the University of Wyoming where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
On June 23, 1967, she married David Wayne Schwab in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Patti and David started their life together in Roy, Utah, then moved to Lyman, Wyoming, for 30 years where they raised their children. Patti worked as a secretary for the Lyman school superintendent. They moved to Idaho 20 years ago where she worked for the Rigby school district.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Relief Society President and as an organist in every ward she lived in for 55 years. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, crocheting, and made an afghan for all of her grandchildren. She also loved watching Jeopardy and was an avid BYU football fan. Patti was a gifted pianist and instilled a love for music in all of her children. Her family was her focus and she dedicated her life to them. They were her greatest joy and she felt it was an honor to be their mother and adored her grandchildren.
Patti is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Wayne Schwab of Ririe, ID; son, Jeffery (Deborah) Schwab of Salem, OR; daughter, Janet (Jason) Edwards of Cheyenne, WY; son, Deryl (Rebecca) Schwab of Cheyenne, WY; son, Brent Schwab of Smoot, WY; daughter, Karen Judy of Ririe, ID; daughter-in-law, Jessica Holee of Middleton, ID; son-in-law, James Keller of Boise, ID; sisters, Carol Ridge, Janice Evans, Cathy Dalrymple, and Paula Christensen; brother, Kevin Christensen; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowen Woodrow and Gayla Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Ririe Willow Creek Ward, 14061 N. 130 E., with Bishop Steven Holm officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
