Parrish Leon Worrell, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 24, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Parrish was born March 1, 1963, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Kyle Leon Worrell and Judy Ann Johnson Worrell. As a child he lived in many places including Germany, Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina. He attended Elementary, Middle and Jr. High School in Fort Bragg, NC, where his father was stationed in the Army.

As a teenager, he loved working on cars with his father. While living in Germany, he attended Stuttgart American High School until his senior year then graduated in 1981 from Reid Ross High School in Fayettville, NC. He went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in secondary Education from Idaho State University.

On February 14, 1986, he married Madeline Mortensen Worrell in Idaho Falls, ID, and together they raised six children. Later their marriage was solemnized on November 15th, 2000 at the Idaho Falls Temple.

Parrish and Madeline made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho where Parrish taught school for over 20 years, teaching history, computers, gifted and talented classes, and honor society. Parrish completed his student teaching at Sandcreek Middle School and taught at Rocky Mountain Middle School, Bamberg American High School, night school at Westside, and substitute taught at Skyline High School. He was named Teacher of the Year many times during his teaching years. He also was involved in extracurriculars and coached football, track, volleyball, wrestling, tee ball, and any and all sports his children were involved in. Parrish enjoyed and loved every student he taught and touched the lives of many. He was an example and leader in and out of the classroom.

Parrish was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was raised a boy scout and grew up to be a cub scout leader. He loved to travel and was lucky to travel with his family. He traveled to 14 different countries in Europe, but his favorite were his beach trips with his wife, children, and best friend, Mike. Parrish was a lover of Rock n’ Roll and played the guitar and bass. He attended many concerts and even had his own band with his brothers called “Wired” and “Attitude Problem.”

Parrish was also an entrepreneur. He co-owned The Hard Drive Cafe in Idaho Falls with his wife and brother, Mike. He wrote many books, loved to garden, and loved fish aquariums. He was co-founder of the East Idaho Aquarium.

Most of all, Parrish was an incredible father. He loved cooking and barbecuing with his sons, and he enjoyed teaching them how to cook with a Dutch Oven. Like his daughter, Tiffany, he had a great love for super heros and comic books, and he looked forward to going to Comic Con many times with her.

He loved to fish with his children, especially ice fishing when his sons pulled him in a sled to the fishing hole. He was a selfless man who always put others needs before his own. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

Parrish was diagnosed with Charot Marie Tooth Syndrome in 1986. He never let it stop him from achieving any goals. Although he struggled physically, he always had a positive mind and heart, and was even awarded Voc-Rehab Client of the year award by the governor of Idaho.
