Nita Beasley Obituary

Nita Beasley, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 16, 2021, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living.

She was born October 19, 1923, to William Heber Adams and Arlitta Hatfield Adams, in Alpine, Wyoming. She was one of eleven children, eight girls and three boys, one being her twin sister, Rita.

She grew up in Irwin, Swan Valley, Idaho. She moved to Lincoln, Idaho, to go to school, and that's where she met Melvin Beasley, they fell in love and that ended her school days, which she didn't mind at all since she was not a big fan of school!

She married Melvin Layffette Beasley on June 4, 1941, in Pocatello, Idaho. Melvin and Nita lived in the house that they built on May Street for over 60 years. He passed away on January 2, 2007. In October of 2009, she married Dean Ferney, and he passed away in March of 2011.

Together, they had  four children, Bruce, Devon, Jody, and Kelley.

Nita was a mother and a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper at the Westbank Motel in Idaho Falls for nearly 30 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked in the Cub Scout organization.

She was a wonderful homemaker, canning from the garden. Everyone loved her raspberry jam, homemade chicken noodle soup, sourdough bread, and pancakes! Nita was very passionate about her oil painting and was a well-known artist throughout her family and friends. She loved camping, fishing, riding horses, and spending time with her family and friends. Nita always had a lot of visitors, which she loved! She loved planting pink and white petunia's in front of the house for all to see.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce M (Joan) Beasley of Ellis, ID, and Devon L (Julie) Beasley of LaCenter, WA; daughters, Jody Jolene (Tom) Anderson of Rigby, ID, and Kelley Arletta (Kent) Chaffee of Rigby, ID; sister, Helen; brother, Conroy; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; several children, grandchildren and great grandchildren from blended families.
