Max Andrew Mahon, also known as Maxine Lilith Chambers, 20, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 22, 2022, in Stark County, Ohio.
Max was born on August 3, 2002, in La Grande, Oregon, to John Andrew Mahon and Jennifer Orme Pack. He grew up and attended schools in Washougal, Washington, Heppner, Oregon, and in the Idaho Falls area. In his teenage years, Max met Bella Groom, who became a very important companion in his life. In 2021, he graduated from Lincoln High School, after which the two moved to Ohio. During his time in Ohio, Max transitioned to Maxine, and worked as a caregiver helping disabled adults.
Maxine was very passionate about learning throughout her life. She immersed herself in her areas of interest, and they often became part of her identity. Some of her passions included: superheroes, mythology, Star Wars, Japanese manga, world cultures, and social justice. She enjoyed music and was a skilled artist who taught herself to sketch, paint, and play ukulele, guitar and piano. She also loved reading and watching movies, and liked analyzing and critiquing them with others.
Maxine is survived by her mother, Jennifer (spouse, Chris) Pack of Idaho Falls, ID; father, John Andrew Mahon of Council, ID; siblings, Brayden Cook, Clayton (spouse, Taylor) Cook and Jack Mahon, all of Idaho Falls, ID; step-siblings, Taylor, Michael, and Amanda Pack; and grandparents, Arnold and Karen Mecham of Portland, OR, and Merrill and Judy Pack of St. George, UT.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Max Paul Orme; her paternal grandparents, John T. and Lorraine Mahon; and her aunt, Patsy Huddleston.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Iona 2nd Ward. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
