Mary Mabel Bingham Obituary
Mary Mabel Haskell Bingham, 96, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away May 31, 2023, at her own home in the care of her two daughters.
Mabel was born April 8, 1927, in Pocatello, Idaho, to William Bunce Haskell and Lillian Marie Sewell Haskell. She graduated from Bell High School in Los Angeles, California, where she was honored as the valedictorian of her graduating class. She was also a member of the Honor Society named the Ephebians Club
On October 26, 1946, she married Doyle Louis Bingham in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple. Mabel and Doyle made their home in Idaho Falls, where Mabel was elected as the Bonneville County Treasurer and served in that capacity for 24 years. She was also President of the Idaho Association of County Treasurers from August 1985 through April of 1986.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, bowling, camping, entertaining others, gardening, traveling and her family.
Mabel is survived by her loving daughters, Meri Alice Bybee, and Teresa Marie Woolf; two daughter-in-laws, LaRae (Bingham) Wilson, and Ellen (Bingham) Hinckley; 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Louis Bingham; parents, William Bunce Haskell and Lillian Marie Haskell; sons, William Edwin Bingham, Leslie Doyle Bingham, and Ronald Lloyd Bingham; daughter-in-law, Gail Ellen Bingham; son-in-laws; Scott Don Bybee, and Hank Brent Woolf.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the health care workers from Teton Rehab Center, Eden Home Health and Eden Home Hospice for their outstanding compassion, care and support of Mabel during her illnesses and her final days.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
