Maria Nuñez, 66, of Shelley, passed away August 3, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Maria was born December 7, 1955, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Gabriel Aguirre Mendez and Elvira Solis de Aguirre. She grew up and attended schools in Mexico and moved to Virginia in the 1980's. She later moved to Colorado in the 2000's and then to Idaho.

She married Manuel Nuñez in 1982. Maria was a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of The Catholic Church. She loved her family and keeping a good, clean home.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Manuel Nuñez of Shelley, ID; father, Gabriel Aguirre Mendez; son, Alex (Viviana) Nuñez of Shelley, ID; son, Jose Nuñez of Firth, ID; daughter, Christina Aguirre of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Daniela Aguirre of Idaho Falls, ID; siblings, Quirina Aguirre, Patricia Aguirre, Carlos Daniel Aguirre, Hector Aguirre, Olivia Garza, Gloria Aguirre, Gabriel Aguirre; and five grandchildren, Alejandro Nuñez, Ivana Nicole Nuñez, Bella Nuñez, Annaleah Nuñez, and Javen Conrad.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elvira Solis; her brothers, Nicolas and Jose Aguirre; and a grandson, Gabriel Manuel Nuñez.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. A Rosary will be held Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a visitation to follow, and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Services will be broadcast on this page.

María nació el 7 de diciembre de 1955 en Parral, Chihuahua, México, de Gabriel Aguirre Mendez y Elvira Solis de Aguirre. Creció y asistió a escuelas en México y se mudó a Virginia en la década de 1980. Más tarde se mudó a Colorado en la década de 2000 y luego a Idaho.

Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Elvira Solis, sus hermanos, Nicolás y José Aguirre, y un nieto, Gabriel Manuel Nuñez.

Los servicios se realizarán a las 2:00 p.m. horas. Jueves, 11 de agosto de 2022, en Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Un Rosario se llevará a cabo el miércoles a las 6:00 p.m. en la funeraria con un velorio a seguir y el jueves a partir de la 1:00 p.m. a 1:45 antes de los servicios.
