Kurt Jolley Obituary

Thomas "Kurt" Jolley, 82, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away May 18, 2022, at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the end of a full and happy life.

Kurt was born May 27, 1939, in Riverside, Idaho, to Virgil Francis Jolley and Deola Lorraine Turpin Jolley. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1957. He served as a Sergeant and aircraft mechanic in the United States Army during the Cold War in Germany.

Kurt met his lovely wife, Judy Lee Wakeman, in October 1964, to which he was married on March 22, 1968, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple and their family were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 25, 1980. 

Kurt, Judy, and their family made their home in Idaho Falls and Las Vegas, where Kurt worked as an automotive parts salesman, warehouse manager, and partial owner of Jerry's Machine & Parts. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, watching western movies, and spending an abundance of time with family.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Jolley of Ammon, ID; siblings, Teddae Charles of Salt Lake City, UT, William Jolley of Ashton, ID, and Michael (Kristi) Jolley of Las Vegas, NV; sons, Brian (Deidra) Jolley of Tremonton, UT, Chris (Claire) Jolley of Idaho Falls, ID, Matthew (Jamee) Jolley of Iona, ID; and daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Horne of St. George, UT; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Alan Jolley, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Woodland Hills 2nd Ward, 3934 E. 49th S., with Bishop Bryce Taylor officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery where Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
