Kenneth Feliciano Obituary

Kenneth Feliciano, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Lord on November 25, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Ken was born January 5, 1948, in the Manhattan Borough of New York City, New York, to Israel Antonio (“Phil”) Feliciano and Virgina Obdulia Rivera Feliciano.  The family moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1952 where he grew up, attended school, and graduated from Monte Vista High School, Whittier, California, in 1966.  He briefly attended Azusa Pacific College before being drafted into the United States Army when he was 20.  He served two years from 1968 to 1970.  He trained as a radio teletype operator, and was sent to Korea during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at an Air Force Base in Korea and completed his service there before being honorably discharged.

Upon returning home, he met Patricia Ann Votaw.  They were married in La Mirada, California, on April 7, 1976.  He began attending Rio Hondo College, graduating with an A.A. in Music in 1979.  He later attended California State University, Fullerton, and graduated in 1985 with a B.A. in Philosophy.  He earned his Master of Arts in Philosophy from Claremont University, Claremont, California, in 1989.

Ken and Patricia were blessed with three girls, Nicole, Kelly, and Teresa. Patricia passed away on October 21, 1988.  Ken moved the family to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he took a job at the INEEL as a purchasing agent. He met Cynthia Sara Coward, and they later married on July 23, 1995, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  Ken and Cindy added to their family two boys, Antonio and Marcos.

Ken became an ordained minister in October 1999, and the family moved to Spring Valley, California, in November 2001, where Ken became the Pastor of Friends Community Church (later Friends Chapel).  Ken always had a dream to earn his Doctorate, and after years of hard work, he was rewarded with a Doctorate of Ministry from Bakke Graduate University, Seattle, Washington, in 2009. Ken served as Pastor for Friends Chapel for almost 15 years before moving back to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 2016, where he became the Pastor of Berean Baptist Church, and served there until his death.

Ken loved books, book binding and repair, musicals, and science fiction movies.  He loved to sing, and spent a number of his younger years traveling and singing in various gospel quartets, including the Searchlighters, the Weatherfords, and Daily Bread. Although Ken loved his family deeply, his greatest love was always for His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He placed his trust in Christ for his salvation when he was 24, and he always said God made him a new man.  He had a deep love for the church and the people of God.  His life’s ambition was to serve:  serve his God, and serve God’s people. He pastored and served in home churches and traditional churches for over 40 years.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Feliciano of Idaho Falls, ID; five children, Nicole (Juan) Contreras of Idaho Falls, ID, Kelly (Richard) Lopez of Idaho Falls, ID, Teresa (Jimi) Fairlee of Idaho Falls, ID, Antonio Feliciano of Idaho Falls, ID, and Marcos Feliciano of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Mark (Barbara) Feliciano of Boise, ID; sister, Marie (Paul) DiTullio, of Anaheim, CA; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Patricia.
