Kathleen Lanette (Shepherd) Reed

Kathleen Lanette Shepherd Reed, 59, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Kathy was born on August 13, 1962, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Bud and Kathleen Shepherd. She was raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. She spent many years working in Special Education with District 93.

In 1985, Kathy married Mark Reed in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three children, Christopher, Kiley, and Austin. Kathy's greatest love was her family. All of her children were proud to call her mom and nana. Kathy was such a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Mark Reed; son, Chris (Jessica) Reed of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Austin Reed of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kiley (Kevin) Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID; and sister, Tammy Shaw of Idaho Falls, ID. Kathy has six grandchildren whom she adored: Addison, Ellie, Cooper, Riggin, Baylor, and Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bud Shepherd; mother, Kathleen Shepherd; sister, Jennifer Hunter; grandparents, May and Mel Hebdon; grandfather, Oscar Shepherd; and grandparents, John and Flynn Simpkins.

Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a bright light in all our lives.

A Celebration of Life for Kathy will be held on August 13, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at 3650 Jill Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
