Katherine Ann Carr, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away of natural causes in her home March 26, 2011. Katherine was born June 9, 1942, in Kimberly, Idaho, to Dr. Taylor H. Carr and Betty Jenel Olsen Carr. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1960. She recently attended her 50th high school reunion and greatly enjoyed seeing friends from that time of her life. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah in 1964 and became a school teacher. In June of 1966, Katherine married Steven Harold Walker. They made their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they raised their son and daughter. Katherine loved purchasing, restoring, decorating, and managing homes as a rental business in Colorado Springs. She volunteered for many years at a local hospital there. She and Steven were later divorced and she moved to Idaho Falls in 2006. Katherine had a tremendous sense of humor and loved a good story. She liked to challenge family members in the completion of a crossword puzzle. She had exquisite artistic taste and was a beautiful decorator with a gifted sense for color.Katherine was tremendously fond of her two cats and throughout her life she had a soft spot in her heart for any vulnerable animal. Survivors include: Son: Christopher Steven (Ana Meek) Walker; Idaho Falls, ID Grandsons: Michael Martin and Cody Martin, Missoula, MT Mother: Betty Olsen Carr, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Phillip Olsen (Cherie)Carr, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Kenneth Wright Carr, Colorado Springs, CO Brother: Steven Edward (Cindy)Carr, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Gregory Curtis Carr, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Jan Carr (Michael) Sousa, Missoula, MT She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deidra Walker Martin; brother, Taylor Douglas Carr; and father, Taylor Henry Carr, MD. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue.
