Jose "Mico" Manuel Palacios

Jose Manuel "Mico" Palacios, 33, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 19, 2023, at his home.

Mico was born September 7, 1989, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, to J. Angel Palacios Hernandez and Hermila Palacios Ybarra. He grew up and attended schools in Jefferson County and graduated from Lincoln High School.

Mico worked as a carpenter for Southfork Custom Cabinets LLC.

Mico was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed being a wonderful loving father to his two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Lexi. He Loved spending quality time with his two daughters, nieces, and nephews. Whether it was taking them swimming, movies, playing basketball, baseball, dirt bike riding, four wheeling, camping, and the kids' favorite game El Bote Lechero. Anything that would make the kids smile. He was an awesome role model to all his dear loved ones. He enjoyed helping others in need of a hand. He always had a very special way of making new friends. He was just a really friendly person to be around. He loved spending lots of quality time surrounded by all his family members and friends. 

Mico is survived by his mother, Hermila Palacios-Ybarra; daughters, Lauren Palacios and Lexi Palacios of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Angeles Palacios of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Eulogia (Fransisco Perez) Palacios-Perez of Rexburg, ID; sister, Socorro Palacios of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Maura Palacios of Roberts, ID; brother, Teodoro (Berenice) Palacios of Shelley, ID; and brother, Rigoberto Palacios of Idaho Falls, ID.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Angel Palacios Hernandez; son, Angel Palacios; and brother, Issacc Palacios.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 659 N. 2872 E. in Roberts, ID.  A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls, with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Market Lake Cemetery in Roberts, ID.
