Jesus Soto Gonzalez, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 8, 2023, at home. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
Jesus was born May 22, 1949, in Durasno Jalisco, Mexico, to Jose Soto Gonzalez and Indalecia Gonzalez Soto. He grew up and attended schools in El, Durasno, Jalisco, Mexico, and took welding courses in California and Idaho.
On November 19, 1969, he married Maria De La Luz Vasquez in Yahualica, Tal. Mexico. Jesus and Maria De La Luz made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Jesus worked as an industrial welder. He had a strong work ethic and was a perfectionist in all he did. He started working when he was 13 years old. He worked helping his father everyday. At that young age he provided money and food for his home. His father was very proud of him. That is why he was a perfect son in his father’s eyes.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, watching Bruce Lee movies and boxing. He was a loving giving man.
Jesus is survived by his wife, Maria De La Luz Soto Vasquez of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Benjamin (Margarita Soto) Soto of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Maria (Salvador Gonzalez) Gonzalez of Hayward, CA; daughter, Angelica (Frankie Valdovinos) Soto of Nampa, ID; son, Sergio (LeNita Eldridge) Soto of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jessica (Oscar Ruiz) Soto of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Irene Soto of Mexico; brother, Alfredo (Evelia Soto) Soto of Nampa, ID; brother, Porfirio Soto of Mexico; brother, Ruben Soto of Mexico; brother, Ignacio Soto of Mexico; brother, Antonio Soto of Mexico; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Soto Gonzalez and Indalecia Soto Gonzalez; brothers, Salvador Soto Gonzalez, Martin Soto Gonzalez I, and Martin Soto Gonzalez II; sisters, Maria Soto Gonzalez, Guadalupe Soto Gonzalez, and Alicia Soto Gonzalez; and first great granddaughter, Evangeline Soto Corona.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 905 S. Lee in Idaho Falls, ID. A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, with a visitation to follow from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
