Obituary

Jeffrey Viron Lane, 63, of Rigby, passed away September 12, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Jeff was born February 6, 1960, to Larry and Joyce Lane in Yokohama Naval Base in Japan. He grew up as an Army Brat, traveling all over the United States. He attended high school in Lampasas, Texas, where he joined the Military. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Expert Badge (M-16 and grenade). He served in Germany. He returned to Texas where he was involved in an accident, and he was medically discharged. He then attended Colorado School of Trades in Gunsmithing. This was his passion and he loved all things that go BOOM.

Jeff married Brenda Carson on February 24, 1989. Together, they raised four children, Tyson Lane, Tasha Lane (Matt Polk), JJ Lane (Ashley), Austin (Clarissa) Rinehart, and all of their friends. 

He enjoyed everything outdoors like scuba diving, hunting, camping, fishing, and exploring. He loved giving people a hard time and teasing his grandsons. 

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lane; his four children and his four grandsons, Tristan, Merek, Mason, and Raylin Lane; younger sister, Dianna Lane; Aunt Miff; Uncle Jerry Lane; brother-in-law, Brian Carson; and best friend, Dan Grover.

The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice, especially Clint and Shannon for their dedication. 

The family will visit with friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard at 12:30 p.m.
