James Louis Carney, 30, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 19, 2020, at his home.
James was born January 1, 1990, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Kevin Alan Carney and Bobette Cromwell Carney. He grew up in Idaho Falls, living close to both sets of grandparents. He graduated from Skyline High School.
James was a carpenter by trade. He loved to create his own unique projects and mostly repurposed old wood.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed wood working, snow machines, dirt biking, rock climbing, being outdoors, camping, bonfires, helping others, and spending time with family. His nieces and nephews were very special to him and his dog Brixie, held a very special place in his heart.
James is survived by his parents, Kevin and Bobette Carney of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Kristen (Mitch) Barney of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Jared (Kassie) Carney of Marietta, OH; brother, Brandon (Jennifer) Carney of Nampa, ID; and grandparents, Robert and Peggy Cromwell of Idaho Falls, ID.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and LuJuanna Carney, and his uncle, Mike Cromwell.
Private Family Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Avenue). Funeral services will be live broadcast for the general public at www.woodfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
