Eugene "Gene" Harold Farmer, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 16, 2018, at his home. He was under the care of Avalon Home Health and Hospice and his loving family.

Gene was born December 5, 1949, in Burley, Idaho, to Harold Eugene Farmer and Bonnie Fay Larson Farmer. Gene attended schools in Rigby and Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School.

On April 7, 1984, he married Wendy Allen in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Gene and Wendy made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a manager for Fred Meyer.

In his youth he loved to go fishing with family and friends.

Gene loved his corvettes and spent hours cleaning and detailing them and enjoyed traveling and vacationing in them with family and good friends.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Wendy Farmer; mother, Bonnie Fay Lake of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Ron (Lisa) Grismore of Waco, TX; daughter, Wynter (Danny) McDonald of Boise, ID; brother, Robin (Kathy) Farmer of Gulfport, MS; brother, Mike Farmer of Rupert, ID; five grandchildren, Dominic, Saffron, and Griffin Cory, and Marlana; and one great-granddaughter, Maiyah.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Eugene Farmer, brother, Jody Farmer, sister, Melanie Farmer and a grandson, Cory Grismore.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am Friday, September 21, 2018, at Iona Cemetery, with Lindsay Sewell, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
