Gayle Johnson, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 12, 2024, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community.

Gayle was born January 21, 1940, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Joseph Ford Sanders and Avis Sargent Sanders. She grew up and attended schools in Hamer, ID and West Jefferson High School in Terreton, ID.

Gayle made her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Gayle worked as department manager for a grocery store before retiring from INL.

She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Card Club, and Bingo. Gayle loved spending time with family, making meals, having annual pool parties for all the grand kids, and especially loved Christmas. She loved reading and keeping a beautiful yard. Gayle was kind and loved by many.

Gayle is survived by her daughter, Kathryn DeMott of Lava Hot Springs, ID; son, Mark Moore of Idaho Falls, ID; step daughter, Treena Hammon of Rigby, ID; sister, Mary Joyce (Roger) Helliwell; brother, Rex Sanders of Salt Lake City, UT; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ford Sanders; mother, Avis Sanders; son, Robert Moore; son, Larry Moore; sister, Edith Wheeler; and brother, Richard Sanders.

A celebration of life will be held in June at the Eagles Club in Idaho Falls.
