Dixie Ace Martin, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 6, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
Dixie was born November 25, 1936, in Boise, Idaho, to Acel Bascom and Thelma Emma Livermore Bascom. She grew up and attended schools in Menan, Rigby, and Pocatello. She graduated from Pocatello High School.
On October 25, 1956, she married Clyde Arthur Martin in Pocatello, Idaho. Dixie and Clyde made their home and raised their family in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Clyde passed away in 2014.
Dixie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She took great joy in raising and caring for her children. She had many talents, but especially loved sewing. She also enjoyed dancing, and singing whenever the opportunity arose.
Dixie is survived by her sons, Jeremiah Jake (Shauna) Martin of Idaho Falls, ID, Blair G (Paige Ann) Martin of St. George, UT, and John Eldon Martin of Pocatello, ID; brother, Gary Ray (Arlene) Bascom of Bountiful, UT; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughters, Carrie Kay Anderson and Tamara Jean Freeman.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm prior. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
