Dianne Hill, age 70, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away September 4, 2021, after a 5-year battle with cancer.
Dianne was born on March 29, 1951, in Rupert, Idaho, to Maxine L Campbell and Dean C Garner. She grew up in the farming community working alongside her parents and family members–Charles, Frank, Max, Gary, and Marla. As a youth she attended the local elementary schools and graduated from Minidoka County High School. She also attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
While at BYU, her sweet personality, fine features, and good cooking attracted the attention of David J Hill, her future eternal companion. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 3, 1970. Dianne and David made their home in Rupert, Idaho, for most of their married life where they were blessed with eight children and built a dental practice. They spent over a decade in Ammon, Idaho. Most recently she lived in Sun City West, Arizona.
To know Dianne is to know one of God's servants. She constantly attended to the needs of her large family and spent countless hours in devoted service to God and others at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her service extended to friends and neighbors as she lovingly shared the abundance of vegetables and fruit from the garden she cultivated. Growing flowers brought her some of the greatest joy during life. The beds in her yard were filled with pansies, irises, petunias, marigolds, roses and many other flowers. She also loved music, singing, romance novels, the outdoors, a good movie, and bare feet.
Dianne is survived by her spouse, David J Hill; her eight children, Norine (Hill) Allen, Sally (Hill) Riley, Tim Hill, Becky (Hill) Gomez, Jon Hill, Adam Hill, Josh Hill, Dan Hill; 34 grandchildren and 2.75 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean C. Garner and Maxine L. Campbell; and a brother, Charles Garner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Ammon 34th Ward, at 4030 John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Christian Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
