Obituary

Daryl Price Perrenoud passed away on August 30, 2023, at the Gables of Ammon.

Daryl was born December 4, 1929, to Theo Ernest Perrenoud and Annie Hortence Price on a farm in Plano, Idaho. He was the oldest of three children with a younger sister, Dorothy, and baby brother, Larry. The farm was owned by E. L. Peterson and was located one-half mile south of what was then Edmunds Grade and High School. Daryl went to school there and was active in all sports.

As a young boy, Daryl worked with his father on the farm. Later, after graduation from high school, he worked for several different farmers in the area before going on his mission to the Western Canada Mission from January 1950 to February 1952.

He met LaRue Brown on a blind date before he left for his mission and they corresponded while he served in Canada. They married in the Idaho Falls Latter-day Saint Temple on April 2, 1952. Two weeks later, Daryl was greeted by a letter from Uncle Sam and boarded a bus for Boise. He spent two years in the U.S. Army, during which time their only daughter, Moalee, was born.

Daryl graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor Degree in Science and Technology. During these years, sons, Tedd, and twins, Kent and Kirk, were born. Kirk only lived a short time. They then moved to Idaho Falls where Daryl was self employed and also worked for various contractors. Son, Thayne, joined the family while they lived in Idaho Falls.

Daryl, LaRue, and their four children, received a call in May of 1964, to serve a church building mission. They were there approximately one year and helped build the chapel in Chadron, Nebraska. Upon returning to Idaho Falls, Daryl continued working in construction and began officiating at basketball, baseball, and football games. He did this for many years. He was also very active in the Iona Posse. He rode in many parades and participated in many competitions with them.

Youngest son, Rene, was born in 1966, completing the family.

Daryl later began working for Industrial Contractors and traveled for his employment to Tennessee, California, and Hawaii. He later had a home in California.

LaRue passed away on May 10, 1996, and is buried in the Ammon Cemetery. Daryl was always a faithful servant to his Savior as a member of The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints. His faith was of utmost importance to him, having served in many callings. He especially enjoyed family history work.

Daryl later married Margaret Mosher on April 25, 1997, and together, they served two missions. The first was a two-year mission from 1999-2001 in the Kirkland Ohio Mission. Later, they served another mission to Dublin, Ireland, where Daryl served as Branch President and Margaret volunteered to teach English to non-Irish Citizens at the local library. Upon arrival home from Ireland, they moved to Ogden, Utah, to be closer to family.

In 2006, Daryl began serving three days a week in the Ogden, Utah Temple. He served there faithfully until the temple closed for a complete renovation.

He and Margaret also enjoyed making quilts for the LDS Humanitarian Center. Daryl enjoyed making hats on a round loom; and continued this until about 6 months before his passing. Margaret passed away on February 10, 2018, at which time he moved to the Gables of Ammon. He resided there until his passing.

Daryl is survivied by his daughter, Moalee (David) Wall; son, Tedd Perrenoud of Idaho Falls; son, Rene (Lynette) Perrenoud of Salt Lake City; brother, Larry Perrenoud of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren, as well as 26 great-grandchildren. He also has 2 great-great grandchildren, with another one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; his sister; his grandson, Kristopher; son, Thayne; daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandson, Nathan; and son, Kent.

The family would like to express thanks to the nurses and staff of the Gables of Ammon for the kindness and patience they showed to Daryl.
