Cynthia Jean (Tackett) Bou

July 28, 1958 ~ September 6, 2023 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Obituary

Cynthia Jean Bou, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 6, 2023, at her home. She was under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice and her loving family.

Cindy was born July 28, 1958, in Fairfield, California, to Walter Tackett and Phyllis Vittatoe Tackett. She grew up and attended schools in California and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1976.

On August 28, 1986, she married Edward Maurice Bou in Reno, Nevada. Cindy and Edward made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she worked in media and administration. During these years, she collected people who became a few of her best friends and remained part of her tribe throughout her life. These loved ones affectionately called her Sister, Princess, Mom, and Grandma; she wore these titles with pride and they were her greatest joys in life. An avid rescuer with a heart that always had room to grow. Cindy fostered those that needed love and haven, not just animals, but people too. She took under her wing children that she called her own and loved them just the same, unconditionally.

Time with family, friends, and a day outdoors on the water was never a wasted day. These memories surely carried her favorites. A few of her beloved pastimes included crafting, genealogy, and history. In later years, while employed by Idaho State University, she fulfilled her great passion for learning, and completed courses through ISU. One of the most quick witted women you could ever meet, a vigor for grand shenanigans cannot be left off her list of accomplishments. Laughter and love were always present in her circle.

She lived to spoil us, she was our biggest fan cheering us on, our love for Cindy is endless.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Edward Maurice Bou of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dominic Bou and wife, Nicole Bou, of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jeff Callum of Idaho Falls, ID; grandchildren, Kyla and Gage Bou of Idaho Falls ID; brother, Randy and wife, Merirae Tackett, of Reno, NV; sister, Linda Tackett of Reno, NV; sister, Kathy Tackett of Reno, NV; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter, Phyllis, and stepfather, Paul V; two brothers, Bud Tackett and Kenneth Gatrost; and sister, Tina Tackett.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
