Clarence J. “Bus” Love, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 31, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
C. J. was born October 14, 1922, in LaBelle, Idaho, to Clarence Barnes Love and Florence May Hall Love. He grew up in Mud Lake and attended school in Roberts, Idaho.
He served as a First Class Petty Officer in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He learned his skills as an aircraft mechanic at the California Aircraft Institute, and at Lockheed Aircraft Company. Throughout his life he worked as an aircraft mechanic in addition to farming in the Osgood area. C. J. also fabricated a travel bus for the “Dutton” Band.
On April 26, 1942, he married Lila Lorraine Souther in Eagle Rock, California, and they moved to Roberts, Idaho, in 1944. The love of his life, Lila, passed away February 14, 2004.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Ward Clerk, Counselor in the Young Men Presidency, Second Counselor in the Bishopric, as a Sunday School Teacher, and various other positions over the years. C. J. enjoyed reading, fishing, spending time with family, country drives, and reminiscing about his exciting life events.
C. J. is survived by his
Son, Thomas J. Love of Ely, NV;
Daughter, Vicki Harper of Idaho Falls, ID;
10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Brother, Gary Love of Blackfoot, ID;
Brother, William Love of Orem, UT;
Sister, Mary Jo Rawlins of Denton, TX,
Sister, Diane Powell of Spanish Fork, UT;
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Lila, two sons, Michael Love and Brian Leon Love, and a grandson, Brian (B.J.) Love.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Westhill Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Steven Bates officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
