Charles "Chuck" V. Johnson, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away on June 4, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Derrick Johnson, and grandson, Charleston Webb.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda Lee (Jensen) Johnson. His children Vince and Gracie Johnson of Rigby, ID, Monte and Julie Johnson of Ammon, ID, and Audra and Del Webb of Mesa, AZ. He had 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, not to mention his many brothers and sisters-in-law, and dozens of nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him and have so many cherished memories of his fun-loving, kind spirit.
Charles was born May 9, 1941, in Winnamac, Indiana. Eight years later he was adopted into his forever family by his dear parents Virgil and Verna Johnson, and together they lived in Mud Lake, Idaho.
Chuck was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his sweetheart Linda served 2 missions together and were ministering companions for several years. He spent much of his life in service to God and was always the first to help anyone he knew that was in need.
He was an active man and enjoyed playing pickle ball, racing his grandchildren, watching horse races, and farming. But most of all, he loved his family.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Riverside Ward, 955 Memorial Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Bishop Wilding officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
