Charles Sidney “Chuck” Garner, 80, of Ucon, passed away February 25, 2020, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice.
Chuck was born March 29, 1939, in Safford, Arizona, to Allie Drew “A.D.” Garner and Opal Irene Liles. He grew up and attended schools in San Diego, California, and graduated from San Diego High School. He served honorably as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
On July 3, 1962, he married LeNora “Norie” Marie Swim in San Diego. Chuck and Norie made their home in Ucon, Idaho, where Chuck worked in construction.
Chuck had Christian values and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed working on cars, building dune buggies for racing, and building guns. He loved the outdoors and seeing wildlife.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Norie Garner of Ucon, ID; daughter, Michelle Garner of Ucon, ID; grandson, Cody (McKenzie) Wadsworth of Idaho Falls; great granddaughter, Kimberlyn Wadsworth of Idaho Falls; and sisters, Barbara Mohr of North Carolina, Sandra Jasperson of Missouri, and Marian Bondy of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Opal Garner; and brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Garner.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
