Bob Sheldon Garrett, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away on November 20, 2023, at the Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Bob was born November 22, 1931, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and adopted by Oscar Wendel Garrett and Grace Mary Swanson-Garrett. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Bob also attended the University of Idaho and then came home to assist with the family business, Garrett Freightlines. Bob spent a combined 46 years as a truck driver and later a bus driver. He loved driving.
Bob married twice before meeting his current wife. During his second union, Bob assisted in raising "his girls", whom he thought of as daughters, and later adopted two children, a boy, and a girl. In 2003, Bob married his love, Doris Haas-Garrett, and spent the rest of his days enjoying her company.
Bob's favorite place was at his cabin in Island Park, Idaho. He spent alot of time there. Bob also liked to go for long drives to new destinations, just to enjoy the views. He loved the outdoors. Bob always had the biggest and brightest smile and made friends everywhere he went.
Bob is survived by his wife, Doris of Idaho Falls; one granddaughter and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janet, Linda, LaRue, Carol, and Theda; and his two children, Oscar and Barbra.
