Robert Dwayne Cox, 59 of Shelley, Passed away February 8,2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Bob was born March 27,1960, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Claude "Bud" Essie Cox and Sarah Marie Hill Cooper. He grew up and attended schools in southern California and graduated from Garden Grove High School.
Bob joined the Army in 1980, and served as Military Police. He received The Good Conduct Medal for his military service. Later he worked for the State Department as a U.S. Embassy guard in Russia and Guyana. After returning to the U.S. he worked various security positions for private companies, worked construction and did home repairs as well.
Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and photography. He was a man with a big heart and never turned down an opportunity to help family and friends with anything they needed.
Bob is survived by his loving daughter of choice, Amanda (Joseph) Rush of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dan (Sue) Cox of Shelley, ID; sister, Charlotte (David) Fox of Ammon, ID; brother, Andrew (Norah) Cooper of Reno, NV; brother, Sidney (Teresa) Cox of Ammon, ID; brother, Roger (Darla) Cox of Ammon, ID; sister, Amy (Chris) Standifer of Lake Lotawan, MO; three granddaughters and three great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Brian Cox; and stepsister, Debbi Cooper.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, at Fielding Memorial Park, where Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. Following the graveside, a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Papa Tom's Pizza.
