Betty Jean Hansen, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 23, 2025, at the Gables of Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Brio Hospice.
Betty was born December 7, 1931, in Salmon, Idaho, to Joseph Harold Adams and Maude Elmira McBride Adams. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended classes at Boise State University.
On April 9, 1950, she married Darlo Hansen in Idaho Falls. They were sealed for time and all eternity on December 7, 1955. Betty and Darlo made their home in Goshen, Idaho, where they lived for 62 years before moving to Ammon, Idaho.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, travel, sewing, and was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved her job as quality control supervisor/microbiologist at Idaho Supreme.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Tim) Moon of Shelley, ID; son, Rick (Darla) Hansen of Chubbuck, ID; daughter, Cindy (Frank) Gorgos of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren; and “Her Wallace kids”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darlo Hansen; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Hank Kindel; grandson, Eric Moon; father, Joe Adams; mother, Maude Whiting; stepfather, Elmo Whiting; and all her siblings.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
