Barbara Helen Albert passed away February 13, 2022, at Lincoln Court, under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Barbara was born March 10, 1929, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Wilhemina and Joseph Hardwick. She moved west with her parents and two brothers, Bob and John, and later, Joseph.
Barbara met Joe Albert, the love of her life, at Washington State College, which is now WSU, in Pullman, Washington. They were married June 6, 1948, in Kettle Falls, Washington, and published an invite of their wedding to the whole town. Thus began 72 years of travel, music, farming, teaching, and family.
Barbara loved music! She began singing and dancing with her dad’s band at Grange Halls and continued playing piano, saxophone, accordion, and violin. She was a lifetime member of the Old Time Fiddlers.
Upon retirement from her teaching job and farming with her husband, they started traveling around the country and Canada in their motor home. They spent a lot of time in Quartzite, Arizona, playing fiddles with the many musicians there.
Barbara is survived by her two daughters of Idaho Falls, Bonnie Albert and Kathie (Tony) Thiel; three grandchildren, Ben (Traci), Jessie (Dave), and Sam; and three great grandchildren, Tony, Reese, and Dawson.
Barbara loved her life and her many friends and family. She had an adventurous spirit and never missed a chance to try something new. She was gracious and humble from beginning to end. Her passion for life and great attitude will be remembered and passed on.
There will be no services per Barbara’s wishes.
