Arleen Kimberly Benson-Nunez

Arleen Kimberly Benson-Nunez, 59, of Idaho Falls, was called home to heaven, September 9, 2021, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Arleen was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, February 28, 1962, to Arnold Eugene Benson and Alice Marian Sprik Benson. Arleen was the youngest of 5, her siblings considered her the fun loving and supportive little sister.

After graduating from Lakewood High School, she became a flight attendant and fell in love with Idaho, eventually calling Idaho Falls home for 36 years. While attending Idaho State University, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Being bilingual and extremely outgoing made her a light in any room.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching football (the Bucs), playing Bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her world. She loved to entertain guests, and summertime was her favorite for a backyard barbecue. Arleen was known for her hospitality and kindness, she enjoyed her friendships. Arleen taught her boys the importance of accepting and loving others regardless of who they are.

Arleen is survived by her loving sons, Andrew, Patrick, and Kevin (Catherine) Nunez, all of Idaho Falls, ID; her 3 grandchildren, Dexton, Rowan, and Francis Nunez; brothers, Alan Benson of St. Petersburg, FL and Alvin (Delores) Benson of Graham, WA; nephews and nieces, Kim Benson-Fuger (Dylan Fuger), Chad Benson, Michael Benson, Michelle Benson, Matthew Benson, Mellissa (Rick) McNary; great niece and nephew, Marianne and Parker Fuger.

Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Alice Benson; sister, Anne (Annetta) Benson; and brother, Speedy (Alfred) Benson.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 785 1st Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Pastor Matt McGukin officiating.
