Zion Destiny Waynewood, 11, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 1, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Zion was born December 29, 2010, in Englewood, Colorado, to De’on Waynewood and Miya Elliott Waynewood. She attended 6th grade at Fox Hollow Elementary.

She was a Christian. She enjoyed swimming and painting. She loved to make bracelets and give them to friends and family. She enjoyed the outdoors and shopping.

Zion is survived by her loving mother, Miya Waynewood of Idaho Falls, ID; father, Deon Waynewood; sisters, Addy Faith, Octavia, Promiss, Naphtalia, Jodeci, and Isis; and brothers, Sanai, Judayah, and Nehemyah; grandparents, Michael & Kay Elliott of Idaho Falls, ID; grandfather, Alton Waynewood of Denver, CO; grandmother, Taressa Carter of AR; and great-grandmother, Lois Taggart of Lubbock, TX.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Jim & Reba Elliott, great-grandfather, Johnny Simmons and bonus grandparents, Harold & Enid Davis.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Church of Christ, 2560 Plommon. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
