Zeralene Egbert Call passed away February 2, 2018, at Fairwinds Retirement Center. She was under the care of Avalon Hospice. A special thanks from the family to both care facilities. Zeralene was born March 28, 1935, in Marysville, Idaho, to Zera Newton and Louise Egbert. Growing up on a farm in Ashton, she learned and loved gardening, planting flowers, harvesting and driving potato trucks. She graduated from high school and married Lane Blanchard June 5, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together, they homesteaded in St. Anthony and raised 5 children, Tawna (Glen), Ryan, Melanie (Allen Taylor-deceased), Bret (Becky), and Marlow (Sharon). They divorced in 1977. Zeralene fondly served and loved sharing her musical talent as a dedicated LDS member, directing choirs, dance, festivals, drama, piano and organ, and serving as Relief Society President. Zeralene also made beautiful quilts. For years, she served in the temple. She loved and touched so many, but ESPECIALLY loved being a mother and grandmother. She always had a need to want to feed anyone who came. That was her way to show love. On November 23, 1979, Zeralene married Winston Soelberg. They were married 19 years when he died March 28, 1999. She then met Melvin Call while playing the organ in the temple. They married June 9, 2000. Together, they served a mission in Manchester, England. Including her children, she leaves behind her husband, Melvin and family, siblings, Dennis (Marie), Brent (Linda), Trenna (Arnold Hillam), and ZJ-deceased (Peggy). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Crestwood LDS Ward, 1925 East 49th South. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton at 3 p.m.
