Winifred Ann Wagner Cardinal, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 8, 2015, at Teton Post Acute Care & Rehabilitation.
Winnie was born September 14, 1929, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Daniel Ray Wagner and Edna Irene Price Wagner. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, attended elementary & junior high school and graduated from Murray High School.
She was the mother of six children, Linda, Kent, Marlene, Luanne, Scott, and Carl. She lived in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Emmett, Idaho. Winnie worked for the Arizona Highway Department and as a waitress. She moved to Joseph City, Arizona, where she met William.
On April 15, 1971, she married William Albert Cardinal in Holbrook, Arizona. Winnie and William made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho since 2009. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 26, 2015.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Winnie loved her family. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed CB radio. She loved to crochet and do cross stitch.
Winnie is survived by
her loving husband of 44 years, William Cardinal of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Kent (Linda) Sundberg of Austin, TX;
daughter, Marlene (Rob) Empey of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Luanne (John) Sirak of Henderson, NV;
son, Scott (Cheryl) Griffith of Phoenix, AZ;
son, Carl (Cheri) Griffith of Stapleton, AL;
brother, Carl Wagner.
18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Mortensen, father, Daniel Wagner, mother, Edna Steiner, and her brother, Fred Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Ammon LDS 4th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Eric Bodily officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
