Wilma Meryl Townsend Roland, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away on July 30, 2010, at Idaho Falls Good Samaritan Society.
She was born December 7, 1912, in Fairfield, Nebraska to Harvey Nelson Townsend and Ora Parrish Townsend. She grew up in the area and attended First through Eighth Grades in a country school in Clay County, Nebraska. She moved with her family to Hemingford, Nebraska where she attended high school.
On July 12, 1932, she married James Roland in Gering, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1976. Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked at J.C. Penney, Princess Dress Shop and Reeds Millinery.
Wilma was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and reading.

Daughter: Margaret Eileen (James) Walters, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Duane (Carla) Roland, Blackfoot, ID
17 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 29 Great Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, 1 brother, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services.
