Willis H Welker, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 3, 2010 at his home from complications due to pancreatic cancer. He was under the care of his family and Allied Hospice.
Willis was born July 25, 1942 in Annis, Idaho to Clinton Welker and Nellie Ida Hall Welker. He attended Annis Elementary School, Midway Jr. High, and graduated from Rigby High School.
He served his country in the Idaho National Guard with the 116 Calvary.
On August 25, 1965 he married Susan Kay Young in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised eight children. Willis worked as a carpenter and in the building and flooring business.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Willis was involved in many civic positions including various government committees, interim State Senator, Republican District Chairman, Republican Region 7 Vice Chair, and he received the 2002 Republican Volunteer of the Year Award for the state of Idaho, and various other awards.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, genealogy, and reading.

Daughter: Wendy (Bill) Brown of Loveland, CO;
Son: Jason (Nikkol)Welker of Preston, ID;
Daughter: Rebecca (Cory) French of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Jeremy (Kendra) Welker of Brigham City, UT;
Daughter: Amanda (Jonathan) Haines of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Tyrell (Christine) Welker of Kent, WA
and 26 Grandchildren
Brothers: Robert Welker of Shelley, ID and Orrin Welker of Rigby, ID
Sisters: Betty Thompson of Idaho Falls, ID and Zola Lindblum of Rigby, ID
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, and his sister Delores Hilton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Coltman LDS Chapel (12448 North 5th East) with Bishop Blair Sautter officiating.

The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 South Ammon Road) and 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
