William Toth, Sr

WILLIAM TOTH, SR. IDAHO FALLS, ID -- William Joseph "Bill" Toth, Sr., 82, of Idaho Falls, died peacefully on December 23, 2003, at his recent home in Idaho Falls. He was born December 5, 1921, at McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Joseph John Toth and Suzanna Barkach Toth. He grew up and attended schools in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, then moved to Newton Falls, Ohio, with his family, where he attended high school. He later attended an Electrical Trade School in Chicago. He married Catherine Marie Saxon June 16, 1945, in Warren, Ohio. He worked as a steel worker for Republic Steel Company (later LTV). Catherine passed away October 6, 1999. He raised his family of four children in Gustavus, Bazetta, and then Brookfield Ohio, where he and his wife lived for over 30 years. He then lived briefly with his son in Mineral Ridge, and then near his daughter in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Idaho Falls in June, 2003 to be near his son, Bill, Jr., and family. He was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, and inventing. Surviving are: Son: William J. Toth, Jr., Idaho Falls, ID, and his three daughters Daughter: Kathleen Ann (Ken) Ramsey, Brunswick, OH, and her two daughters Son: James Anthony (Virginia) Toth, San Antonio, TX, and his son and daughter Son: Martin Jerome Toth, Mineral Ridge, OH, and his son and daughter Brother: John Toth, Warren, OH 9 Grandchildren, including Idaho Falls residents Cyndy (JA) Coody, Kathryn Toth, and Mickie (Travis) Killian, whose family includes Bill's only 4 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine, two brothers, Joseph and Robert, and two sisters, Margaret and Helen. Bill's Family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the loving staff of Fairwinds Sand Creek for their efforts and support during Bill's later days. The Family is also greatly appreciative of the care provided by the Hospice of Eastern Idaho, to which memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2003, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Father Joe McDonald of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Services will be held in Brookfield, Ohio, on Monday, December 29, 2003. Burial will follow in the Brookfield Township Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
