William R. Jones, Sr. - 11/20/2002 William R. Jones, Sr. - 11/20/2002 WILLIAM R. JONES, SR. IDAHO FALLS, ID -- William R. Jones, Sr., 82, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died November 19, 2002, at his home. He was born July 26, 1920 in Shelley, Idaho to Burton L. Jones and Phyllis F. Clow Jones. He grew up and attended elementary and high schools in Shelley. In 1972 he earned his G.E.D. During World War II, he served as a Tec 5 with the National Guard. He married Nellie May Foster February 11, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later divorced. He worked for the City of Idaho Falls since 1946, first as a police patrolman for 5 years, then as a maintenance helper in the Electrical Division, then as maintenance plant operator, diesel operator and mechanic. In 1967 he was promoted to customer service advisor. He retired in 1981. He enjoyed all outdoor activities. Surviving are:Son: William R. Jones, Jr., Shelley, IDSon: Vincente M. Jones, MA10 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by mother, father, two brothers, and two grandchildren.
