William Shamel

William “Bill” Shamel died August 14, 2011, due to cancer. Bill was married to Nancy for 42 years. They have two children, five grandchildren. From previous marriage, one daughter, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bill and Nancy worked side by side for 22 years in their business, Northwest Inspection & Testing, Inc. The business was sold in 1998. Bill retired from Diversified Metals Inc. in 2003 as their Quality Assurance Manager. Bill had many hobbies and interests throughout his life but after retirement he spent winters in his studio painting and summers on the Yankee Fork of the Salmon. He loved the outdoors, mountains and prospecting. As he said many times, he lived a full and wonderful life. Once a Marine always a Marine and Bill was, right to the end.
