William Ridley

William Patterson Ridley, 13, of Lewisville, passed away August 23, 2011, at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, from complications due to Acute T Cell Leukemia. He was born on July 20, 1998, in West Valley City, Utah, to Damon Patrick Ridley and Bronwyn Geneva “Jenny” Nelson Ridley. He and his family lived in Spokane, Washington, Idaho Falls, Newport, Vermont, then back to Idaho Falls. The family moved to Lewisville last year. William attended Tie Breaker Elementary, White Pine Charter School, and Midway Middle School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was serving as first counselor in the Deacon’s Quorum in his ward at the time of his death. William had obtained his Life Scout Achievement in the Boy Scouts of America program. He participated on the robotics team at Midway and White Pine. He was an excellent student and was in the honors program at Midway. He loved reading, playing outside, playing football, camping, shooting, robotics, and participating in the 4-H program. William loved animals, and they loved him. He will be remembered fondly as a kind boy with a very big heart. William is survived by his parents, Damon and Jenny Ridley of Lewisville, Idaho; a brother, Maxwell (9); two sisters, Meagan (11) and Madeleine (3); Grandparents, Robert Galen Nelson and Marie Constance Nelson of Spokane, Washington, and M. Pat Ridley and M. Kay Ridley of Macks Inn, Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Idaho Falls Lewisville 2nd Ward, 101 E. Main Street, Lewisville, with Bishop Tony Nielsen officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd., and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to help with medical expenses may be made at any Bank of Idaho location, or in his name to Primary Children’s Medical Center, P. O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Utah 84158-0249.

The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd., and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery.
