Biography

William Louis “Billy” Phillips, 40, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away February 2, 2012, at his home. Billy was born April 8, 1971, in Kingman, Arizona, to Louis Byron Phillips, Jr. and Koreen Chapple Phillips (now Morgan). They were later divorced, after moving to Rexburg when Billy was 4 years old. Billy attended Rexburg and Rigby schools while growing up. He moved to live with is dad, Louis B. Phillips, in Boise, where he became schooled in commercial and residential painting and woodworking, becoming proficient in both. They moved to Salt Lake sometime later, where he eventually owned his own business, until he became disabled. Billy had a knack for making old places look new. He moved back to Rexburg, Idaho, with his mom and stepfather, Koreen (Steve) Morgan after his father passed away. He later moved to Idaho Falls. On July 24, 2008, he met and married Paulina Kim Ward in Idaho Falls, where they resided with their family until the time of his death. Billy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his dogs and cats and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors are: Wife: Kim Phillips, Idaho Falls, ID Stepson: Ricky Ward, Idaho Falls, ID Stepdaughter: April Ward, Idaho Falls, ID Stepdaughter: Lisa Ward, Idaho Falls, ID Stepdaughter: Annette Ward, Idaho Falls, ID Mother: Koreen (Steve) Morgan, Rexburg, ID Brother: Byron (Barb) Morgan, Rigby, ID Brother: Robert (Angie) Morgan, Rapid City, SD Sister: Tina Myler, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: August (Sean) Hockmuth, Lusby, MD Sister: Angel Morgan, Redding, CA Sister: Brittani (Ryan) Oplinger, Idaho Falls, ID and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the Rexburg LDS Evergreen Ward, 700 Park Street. The family will gather with friends and family from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
