William Barrett Kopeinig passed away on August 23, 2023, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a much-loved father, son, and brother. He was born on June 14, 1987, in Mt. Kisco, Westchester County, New York, and was raised in the nearby hamlet of Katonah. He attended local schools.
While in high school,William, was a class officer, served with a small group of other young men and women who organized monthly service and social activities for several hundred youth in surrounding communities, volunteered service to developmentally challenged men and women from the Letchworth Village Home, and spent time feeding the homeless at Central Synagogue’s New York City soup kitchen. Doing good and quietly serving others made him happy.
He attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, in Rexburg, Idaho.
William always liked to work, especially physical labor. While living in New York he worked for several local businesses, and in the warehouse of BDI-Laguna, a New Jersey-based consumer electronics and IT distributor, where he enjoyed the challenge of long days of hard work coupled with the opportunity to interact with coworkers from around the world. He was perceptive and well-liked, and known for being fair and for his good sense of humor.
Following his relocation to Idaho William was employed by companies in Madison and Bonneville Counties.
He always loved the out-of-doors, enjoyed time hiking, camping, and exploring nature with his children.
William is survived by his children, Emilee Irene Kopeinig, Annibell Rae Kopeinig, William Eli Kopeinig, and Owen Bryant Kopeinig; his parents, William F. and Gwen Kopeinig; his siblings, an older brother, sisters, Sarah Kopeinig Nebush (Seth), Rebekah Kopeinig Murray (David), Jana Kopeinig Anderson (William), Lauren Kopeinig (Miguel Perez); and by nieces and nephews.
