William Johnson

William Bernard Johnson 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 18, 2013, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born July 17, 193,7 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Arthur Glen Johnson and Irma Ardella Smith Johnson. Bill attended the Poplar School and continued his education in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. Bill played basketball at Ririe High School, and being the star player he holds the record of 50 points scored in a District Tournament game. He enjoyed horse racing, golf, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He attended Idaho State University in Pocatello. He married Darlene Wessman and they had one daughter, Treena. He joined the National Guard and served as Private 1st class and as a cook at Fort Lewis, Washington. Bill and Darlene later divorced. Bill lived in Idaho Falls for 35 years. He started out as a car salesman and eventually bought and managed his own business, Majestic Used Cars. Later, he purchased and ran the Classic Bar in Idaho Falls. As a side venture, he started selling worms to other local businesses around town and did very well with this endeavor. He married Ilene M. Parr Kisner May 4, 2001 in Jefferson County. Bill is survived by his wife, Ilene of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Treena Johnson Hammon of Rigby, ID; Stepson, David (Janette) Kisner of Middleton, ID; Stepson, John (Joanna) Kisner of South Ogden, UT; Stepson, Kenneth (Valena) Kisner of Rigby, ID; Stepson, Larry (Susan) Moore of Hawaii; Stepdaughter, Kathy Demott of Lava Hot Springs, ID; Stepson, Mark Moore of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Richard G. Johnson of Ririe, ID; 21 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna, a brother, Keith, a stepson and a step grandson. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, with Military Rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
