William Albert "Bill" Hulet, 104, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 7, 2026, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. He was under the care of Enhabit Hospice.
Bill was born October 11, 1921, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Albert Franklin Hulet and Vida Hill Hulet. He spent his early years in Twin Falls, and then moved with his family to Driggs, Idaho, when he was three years old. Later, the family moved to Victor. He grew up there and graduated from Victor High School. He also attended Ricks College (AS), where he was valedictorian, Brigham Young University (BS), University of Washington (MBA), and the University of Maryland. He was active in band and choir during his school and college years.
Bill served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II, where he interrogated German prisoners and earned the Bronze Star. He also served during the Korean Conflict.
On September 20, 1942, he married Betty Mae Danks in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls for two years, and then moved to Boise where they raised their seven children, Michael, Barry, Gregory, Tamara, Judy, Heather, and April. Bill worked in staff and supervisory positions for Idaho Employment Security Agency, and later as Representative and Director of the U. S. Office of Veterans Affairs for Idaho. Betty passed away May 17, 2000.
On November 25, 2000, he married Vida Mae Waite in the Boise Temple. Bill and Vida lived between Kamiah and Lehi, UT for ten years. Bill moved to Idaho Falls in 2010.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bill served as Bishop of the Boise 16th and 21st Wards and served on the Boise North Stake High Council for eight years. He served full-time missions to San Antonio, Texas, and San Diego, California, at the Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center. He enjoyed music and skiing and had a lifelong love of saddle horses.
Bill is survived by his son, Greg (Vicki) Hulet of Island Park, ID; daughter, Tammy (Jon) Wood of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Judy (Michael) Fluckiger of Highland, UT; daughter, Heather (Rody) Cummings of Boise, ID; daughter, April (Jack) Dees of Twin Falls, ID; sister, Barbara (Dean) Call of Washington, UT; 31 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Hulet; and sons, Michael and Barry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Skyline Ward Building, 2345 17th South in Idaho Falls, with President Steve Zollinger, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery with military honors by the Teton County American Legion Post 95 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
