William (Bill) Gies

BILL GIES IDAHO FALLS, ID -- William Adam Gies, 63, of Idaho Falls, died August 16, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of pulmonary complications following back surgery. He was born August 29, 1943 in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Adam Gies and Bernice Margaret Richie Gies. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School and obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado. He married Carol Eifling on May 23, 1976 in Denver, Colorado. He worked as a chemist and quality engineer for the Department of Energy at the Rocky Flats Plant in Golden, Colorado for 27 years before retiring to Idaho Falls in 1997. He enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Colorado, Teton and Yellowstone Parks, and spending time with his family. Survivors include: Wife: Carol Gies, Idaho Falls, ID Mother: Bernice Gies, Riverside, CA Sister: Judy Ringo, Riverside, CA He was preceded in death by his father. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Lung Association of Idaho, 111 S.
