William "Bill" Howard Sirdofsky

William “Bill” Howard Sirdofsky passed away on January 18, 2026, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Bill was born on February 16, 1957, in San Francisco, California, and moved to Queens, New York, at the age of 5.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 19, 1977, at the age of 19. After 18 years of dedicated service, he retired in August 1994.

Before his retirement, Bill met Deborah James at church, and they were married on July 31, 1993. A year later, they welcomed a wonderful son, Nathan, into their lives. They resided in Boise, Idaho, where Bill worked as a computer chip inspector for Micron.

In 2007, Bill and Debbie moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be closer to Debbie's family. Bill worked in retail for Melaleuca and later Cabela's.

Bill had many interests. He was an avid baseball enthusiast and always supported his favorite team, the New York Mets. He also enjoyed raising sheltie dogs with his wife, and even formed his own imaginary sheltie baseball team, where he would determine the best positions for each dog. Bill also enjoyed fishing, playing darts, and reading the Bible.

Bill had a profound faith and was deeply connected to his church family in the Church of Christ. He was passionate about sharing the gospel and enjoyed teaching and discussing the Bible with others.

Bill found amusement in the most unusual things. He had a fondness for corny jokes and cherished reminiscing about his time in a band during the 1970s.

He will be remembered for his distinctive wit, the love he had for the beloved dogs, and his abiding faith in Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie (James) Sirdofsky; his son, Nathan (Sirdofsky) Dowell; his daughter-in-law, Taylor Dowell; his half-sisters, Katrina Sirdofsky and Tanya Sirdofsky; and his half-brother, Dylan Sirdofsky.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Sirdofsky and Bette Herman.
