BILL ASHTON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- William David "Bill" Ashton, 68, of Idaho Falls, died May 25, 2006, in Gillette, Wyoming, at the home of his son.
He was born April 20, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Hubbard Ashton and Emily Elaine Davis Ashton. He attended O. E. Bell Elementary and Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U. S. Navy and Air Force during the Vietnam conflict.
He married Patricia Suzan Hemmerman June 30, 1961, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. After retiring from the Air Force, they moved to Idaho Falls, then moved to Island Park, Idaho, where they have lived for 20 years.
He was a retired Air Force Mechanic and also worked at the INEL. Later he managed the Lakeside Lodge in Island Park and also worked for the Idaho State Parks and Recreation Department. He was a volunteer for the Island Park Ambulence as a First Responder, Fremont County Search and Rescue and Island Park Fire Department. He was also active politically in the Island Park area. He loved his grandchildren, Alyssa, Kylee, Tate and D.J., and enjoyed locksmithing, snowmobiling, ATV riding and fishing.

Sister: Monnette (Roy) Reynolds,
Sister: Bobi Holm
Sister: Kathy (Bill) Nelson
Sister: Jean (Bill) Meppen, all of Idaho Falls,
Sister: Pat (Lynn) Gardner, Irwin, ID
Sister: Betty (Dick) Schwabedesen, West Valley, UT
and four Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a grandmother, a grandfather, and a sister, Bonnie.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to services Wednesday, both at Wood East Side.
Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
