WILLIAM E. "BILL" ARNOLD
POCATELLO, ID -- William Edgar “Bill” Arnold, 81, of Idaho Falls, died April 7, 2002, at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello.
Bill was born October 15, 1920, at Onalaska, Washington, to Clarence Ellsworth Arnold and Louise Nowadnick Arnold. He grew up and attended schools in Onalaska, where he graduated from high school. He attended Junior College in Centralia, Washington.
During World War II he served in the U. S. Army Air Force, mainly in Italy, and was discharged in November, 1945.
Bill married June Fielding December 24, 1945, at Idaho Falls. Following their marriage, they lived in Onalaska for five years, then moved to Idaho Falls, where he worked on Palisades Dam. He then worked on dams at Hells Canyon, Page, Arizona, and Oroville, California. They later moved to St. Anthony while he worked on the Teton Dam, then lived in American Falls for 24 years while he worked on the American Falls Dam. They moved back to Idaho Falls in March, 2000, where he lived until he went into the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello.
Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are:Wife: June Arnold, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Jean Arnold, Onalaska, WAHe was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, J. D. Arnold.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
