William "Bill" Alexander Evans

William "Bill" Alexander Evans, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 14, 2022, at Tambree Meadows Assisted Living Center.

Bill was born January 29, 1940, in Torrance, California, to Robert Fairchild Evans and Isabel Muriel Freeland Evans. He grew up and attended schools in California. He served in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after years of dedicated service.

Bill was a member of the Presbyterian church and enjoyed his time serving as a Deacon within his local congregation.  He enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, fishing, traveling, collecting art, playing Santa, and was an active member of the Lion's Club, the American Legion, and the Disabled Veterans Association. While in the Lion's Club, he served in many capacities, but always had a special place in his heart for Project New Hope. He was a great man and found friends wherever he went.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Dana) Smith of Merritt Island, FL; Samantha (Todd) Zollinger of Idaho Falls, ID; Jessica Evans of Gig Harbor, WA, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Isabel (Bonnie) Evans, his brother, Ronald Evans, sister, Barbara (Lang) Taylor, and son, Todd Evans.

Services will be held at a later time in the Spring. Inurnment will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the United States Navy at a later date.
