WILFRED "SLIM" KINZER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Wilfred Melvin “Slim” Kinzer,
88, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 8, 2005, at Portneuf Regional Medical
Center in Pocatello. He was under the care of Portneuf Geriatric Center Hospice.
He was born June 4, 1916, in Union Town, Washington, to Phillip
Jacob Kinzer and Gertrude Mary Bosse Kinzer. He grew up and attended schools
in Killiam, Alberta, Canada. He moved to Rexburg, where he met Gladys Mae
Christenson. They were married October 30, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He
served as a Tech Corporal in the U. S. Army during World War II. When the
war ended they moved to Idaho Falls, where they lived until 1999, when they
moved to Chubbuck for health reasons.
He worked for Amcor Block Company and V-1 Oil Company as
a mechanic and heavy equipment operator until 1982. Gladys died April 13,
2003. He loved airplanes, hockey, and baseball.

Daughter: Roberta Taylor, Pocatello, ID
Sister: Louise Sherbach, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
8 Grandchildren & 20 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys, and ten brothers
and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May
14, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends
Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services,
both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Memorial Team.
